LETTERS: Community forum was welcoming and productive

We went to the Community Amenity Contributions Forum on Jan. 20.

We were very happy with the event. We feel that the city did a good job of setting the event up.

It was accessible, the mayor, councillors and city staff all helped us understand how the event was going to happen and they made us feel welcome by greeting us.

They had tables with different topics. We sat at three tables and told someone what we thought about topics like mobility, parks and recreation, and civic facilities.

At the tables, we heard from people in the community and what they wanted. Everyone was kind and easy to talk to. We felt good.

The city gave us stickers to put on the most important issues to us, on posters. We voted on affordable housing and accessible beaches and parks.

We want people to know they can share how White Rock can spend the money. You can take the survey on their website.

We think that helping your community is nice and easy. SAS has members who live in White Rock.
