The Surrey mayor and council appear to be ignoring the fact that our schools, hospitals and general infrastructure within the community cannot support any further development, yet they continue to issue residential building/development permits.

Our roadways are nearing unusable condition, while the traffic situation is worsening every month.

The signage bylaw enforcement cannot be effectively enforced, as when illegal event signage is taken down, new signage of this nature appears almost overnight. This is further pushing Surrey into the ‘undesirable’ neighbourhood category.

Council does not seem to be at all concerned about horrible sites that remain undeveloped, year after year. Case in point, the old Surrey Market at King George Boulevard and 64 Avenue. This overgrown, rat-infested piece of property is an embarrassment, as is the vacant dump site at 76A Avenue and Scott Road, among others.

It is clear the municipal government is not listening to the will of the electorate, or considering the reality of the development on overcrowding of our schools, hospitals and traffic mess. The next municipal election cannot come soon enough.
