We went to the Sunday market in White Rock last weekend.
Just walking around we noticed how out-priced everything is and find it hard to believe why this is.
Two small bulbs of garlic, for instance, were $5 – outrageous.
The handlers have very little overhead, no staff to pay, no building like a store to pay taxes on, etc., and want mostly cash.
We went there in good faith, trying to get something fresh.
We actually bought two Polish sausages. They had a beautiful picture of this with sauerkraut and, when we got this order, it was a little sausage about three inches long, full of water and no taste.
It just isn’t the Canadian way anymore and is very disappointing and we felt cheated.
I know we have the choice not to buy anything, but wanted to support it by going there.
