As a Surrey resident I’m in full agreement with letter-writer Bill Becht.
My wife and I would love to take the train from Blaine to points south and not have to drive into Vancouver, pay for parking and then drive back home when we return.
Anything to help people get out of their cars should be seriously considered.
Baseball and football fans would love this type of service, and what about the coming hockey rivalry between our Vancouver Canucks and the coming Seattle hockey team? If you think the Blue Jays fans cause a stir in Seattle now when their baseball team plays the Mariners, just imagine Canucks fans in Seattle for hockey.
I would think Seattle’s business community would help finance such a rail service if the idea was pitched to them.
