Re: Grizzly cub impacted by human conflict (Friday, Oct. 28 Tribune/Weekend Advisor).
It is a difficult achieving balance.
There is a cost/contribution in everything we do, and they do.
The Bella Coola valley residents have taken many actions towards coexistence.
We hear many good stories of the successful efforts on an ongoing basis.
As someone else mentioned, there are and will be bears that see humans as prey or a source of food, as well as cougars who probably see humans more regularly as prey/source of food than bears.
Animals roamed where all our big and small cities are now.
City dwellers are equally responsible for the encroachment on wildlife territory.
We can only strive for some tolerance and maybe a little more effort by some.
This one was particularly emotional for many because of the proximity to the townsite.
Thanks to all who tried their best in this situation.
It was not an easy one.
