In view of all the controversy surrounding the arbitrary decision of Surrey’s mayor to create his own police department it’s time for the voice of the people to be heard.
The referendum should be held ASAP to, once and for all, settle this argument. The opposition of many council members should also be cause for a referendum on this issue and many retirees will find it hard to bear the costs of the tax increases that will occur.
Kudos to Ivan Scott, et al, for all their sensible opposition to a bad decision.
