LETTERS: Mountie comes to the rescue

Re: Sooke Mounties go beyond call of duty (Opinion, June 29)

I had first hand experience just this past week.

While driving along Idlemore Road, a small dog ran into the back wheel of our truck. As we had already passed, I heard yelping and crying from the dog owner. We stopped to check out the situation.

As we were in a truck with our own dog, we had no room to take the young man and his dog to the vet. As we were trying to decide the plan of attack, a policeman came along and volunteered to take the young man and his dog to the vet.

We followed through with assistance by retrieving our car and giving the pair a drive home.  Luckily the dog was OK and all turned out well, but I would like to say a big thanks to the officer that came to the rescue.
