This was a world premier, first-class production written and produced and set to music by Pat Brown and Randall Robinson. It was performed in Kelowna.
These two actors and musicians have been in many of the Soundstage Productions that Penticton has witnessed over the past 10 to 15 years. In fact, many of the cast have been in Soundstage Productions over the years.
Nevill Bowman, Pat Brown, Ashley Atkinson, Dustin McGifford and Jake Kimberley performed brilliantly in the musical. Randall Robinson was the conductor of the rock musical. The love number between Ashlei Atkinson and Nevill Bowman was clear, beautiful, poignant and moved the audience enormously.
In the final scene the cast interpreted the utter exhaustion, weariness and agony of the artist’s rendering. This was a special climax. The audience rose in mass to spontaneously and thunderously applaud the performance.
Why is the Cleland Theatre so expensive to rent for local productions? Penticton sure missed out on this one.
