Re: ‘Dangers of fentanyl must be known,’ Nov. 25.

When local MLA Gordon Hogg stated in an article that “drugs affect everyone,” I assume he means the long-suffering taxpayers who are funding needles, ‘shooting-up’ galleries with associated medical staff, antidote kits for all, etc.

Next step could be to supply dopeheads their recreational drugs of choice. Then the taxpayer can apply – no, demand – the government pay for supplies to satisfy their own recreational addictions. Tubs of Ice Cream comes to mind.

Since the government called it a disease, albeit self-inflicted, overdoses have increased.

With nice-sounding names – like ‘marijuana dispenseries’ instead of potshops and ‘recreational drug users’ instead of dopeheads, and all the freebies – the government is coming close to promoting that lifestyle.

Regarding Fred Somers Sr.’s letter on taxpayers footing the bill for druggies who repeatedly overdose, assuming Narcon is close by. A great letter to the editor, and a genuine feeling of the silent majority.
