Editor:
I read Wayne Baldwin’s letter regarding Coun. Dave Chesney’s apology from the current council and I must say Mr. Baldwin never ceases to amaze me with his take on all things White Rock.
First of all I think Coun. Chesney was out of line on both instances, but whether they warranted complete censures is another matter.
I do believe that contained in the records it shows Mr. Baldwin voted against the first censure and you can correct me if I am wrong.
Reading the the released minutes from both closed meetings for the two separate censures ,I am struck by how the former council asked for and received profuse apologies from Coun. Chesney.
After having him dangle in the wind for several hours, they censured him anyway without any explanation to the public other than to announce the move.
Such a serious accusation was never discussed in open council with all the deliberations done behind closed doors. We have turned the page from a very controversial 2014-18 and are already well into the next chapter.
Enjoy your retirement, Mr.Baldwin and let it all go. All things must pass.
