I would like to thank your staff for the reports in the Peace Arch News regarding the water issues we had presented to the council at the regular meeting on April 11.

Our strata asked for a review of the current utility fee schedule which would require that we pay for approximately six times as much water as we use. The city staff reported back at the council meeting on May 9 recommending a solution that seemed to us to be a ‘win/win’ situation and also supported a review of the current fee schedule to reflect a more consumption based schedule which would support the city’s goal of water conservation.

For us, this is a satisfactory resolution to our issue and hopefully the development of a program which would support the sustainability of our water system.

The mayor’s comment “common sense prevails” was certainly appropriate.
