Re: Step up for seniors, B.C., July 2 letters
Barry Gaudin’s letter is the most outrageous yet. My husband and I are both octogenarians – closer to 90 than 80 – don’t call us seniors, we are old, and wear it with pride. Get it? If you’re lucky, you will get there, too.
We are fortunate to be still living in our house and getting along without too much outside help. It would be nice if we could see our grandkids and great-grandkids as often as we like, but for the sake of everyone’s health, we don’t.
Meanwhile, we are grateful for the communication opportunities that modern technology provides us.
As for Dr. Henry, she is my new Wonder Woman – she restores calm where there would otherwise be panic, and has been instrumental in keeping B.C. among the safest provinces.
Ditto for Premier Horgan. I have never voted NDP, but if he runs again, I might.
That said, I truly feel for those that can’t hug their loved ones as they used to, but consider the dangers. And learn from this – talk to the older ones that are still near you. They won’t be around forever either.
Don’t forget to wash your hands, and be kind.
