Re: Missing from planning process, June 17 letters.

In her letter to the editor, Catherine Ferguson writes “on behalf of the residents and for the greater good of our city” and even refers “to the interests of the residents,” as she calls for the creation of neighbourhood plans prior to the any further major developments outside of the current official community plan.

As a resident of White Rock, I am simply astonished at the former mayor’s self-righteous claims.

Without any background in engineering, design, construction, architecture, law or economics, Ferguson has no mandate to speak on my behalf, let alone implying that our city council is doing something wrong, considering that spot zoning is not defined in planning and zoning legislation.
