Liberals lacked leadership

Ignatieff announced he is stepping down as the federal Liberal leader.

Stepping down from what?

His leadership produced the most devastating defeat ever for the Liberal Party of Canada. He lost his own seat in an unbelievable upset and now he has decided to be gracious and step down.

He was kicked out by the Liberal Party of Canada voters.

His appointment by the party was just that, a back-door entry to leadership. He did not earn leadership. He blames Harper and the Conservatives for his demise.

The electorate could not cope with being lectured any time Iggy opened his mouth. In reminding everyone of Harper’s shortcomings, he offered only smoke with no clearly defined or fiscally viable alternate solutions.

He tried to ride Laurier’s coat tails to success. Laurier had success because of personal integrity. He has also been dead for so many years that his image has faded. Iggy’s image did not fade, it self destructed. His self aggrandizing rhetoric was his own Waterloo. It seems the Liberal Party of Canada needs some time in the wilderness to get rid of the old deadwood in the elected members.

Ignatieff was/is an opportunist who attempted to drink his own bath water and got drowned by the soap bubbles.May he rust in peace thanks to Jack and Steve.
