Library in danger zone

Corner of Martin and Eckhardt presents a danger to pedestrians

Andy Homan got it right (re: Nov. 21 letter Accident waiting to happen).

The last time there was a crash at the corner (Martin and Eckhardt) it badly damaged the stop light system including the important pedestrian signal, so that the “little man” couldn’t stay and watch; he ran away for several days.

Until the pedestrian crossing was re-established, I avoided the intersection all together, even changing bus routes.

Note to my sister seniors: do not assume that the driver making a “right” has even seen you, with your armload of books.

The letter writer has identified a major accident prone corner. He wants to be able to enjoy times with his family and I want a direct route to the public library.
