First phase nearing completion, with two sign islands in the middle of the streets and many other road obstructions, narrowing the streets and limiting parking. Government St. and Gilligan Dr. have become the downtown business bypass for local residents.
Burns Lake has always had a crocked main street, now it has a crocked narrow main street. Consider this; what business will be helped by the road obstructions and limited parking? This is not a side street, but is Yellowhead 16 the main east and west traffic corridor of Northern B.C. A frivolous way to spend our tax dollar. Hats off to the contractors who have done an excellent job of night work and traffic control.
It’s not all bad news; the person taking care of the flowers will have a full time job, taking care of the extra garden displays. It’s like setting your table with the finest dishes and cutlery, but no food for your guests.
