Linking LFL with sexual predators a long stretch

I am writing in response to three letters which appeared in the Feb. 14 edition of The News.

I am writing in response to three letters which appeared in the Feb. 14 edition of The News.

First to Gertie Pool: I ask how she manages to survive all the horrible shocks the city has thrown at her over the years, and now the LFL is on her doorstep! There is a simple solution, Gertie – stay away!

If I don’t like a function in the city, I stay away. I don’t rant and rave about their right to do what they wish within the law.

Would it appease your sense of decency if they were wearing a two-piece bikini instead of bras and panties? They are wearing more than most women wear at the beach. What you find “obscene, distasteful, offensive and repugnant” is now acceptable. Get out of the cow path, Gertie, there’s a busload of scantily-clad fit female footballs players coming through.

To Eleanor Klassen: Our elected officials are elected to be good stewards of our money, not to be the moral police, as the mayor said. And for you to link the LFL with sexual predators is a stretch so long that even Gertie Pool wouldn’t touch it. To even connect the two is obscene.

Finally to Maureen Nicholl: Please run for council in the next elections. We need fresh blood on council, and you are the kind of forward-thinking person needed in order to move Abbotsford forward as the city it is becoming, rather than the sleepy little church town it once was.
