Community rallies support for programs at the local library

This is one of those things that happens in small communities that leave an impact on you.

I attended the parent advisory council meeting to let the parents know about our Summer Reading Club at the Lumby branch of Okanagan Regional Library every summer.

I told them about the great programs that we have planned for the kids this year and about our funding only being $60 for the summer for up to 75 kids.

The Kelly family did a bottle drive and raised $75 toward supplies for this program.

Charmayne and I thank you, as well as all of those past and present, who have donated their money and time to our summer literacy program.

We are so fortunate to have such thoughtful people in our community.

Thank you.
