Major east-west arterial is overdue

It’s long past the time that we have an additional major arterial going east-west through Langley and 16 Avenue seems the logical choice.

Editor: I suggest letter writer D.A. Harrison for mayor (letter, The Times, Sept. 4).

It’s long past the time that we have an additional major arterial going east-west through Langley and 16 Avenue seems the logical choice, although the connections to Highway 99 are unfortunately not on this street.

The need for this route is only going to get greater as the industrial area at Campbell Heights gets built out. There does not appear to be any preparation or even recognition of this by Langley or Surrey.

I feel for the residents in this area now and when, or if, 16 Avenue is expanded but it will only be worse if further residential development is allowed.
