Conservatives have been talking about fighting crime for years, but Harper’s government has been actively obstructing any inquiry into allegations that his cabinet colleague Tony Clement, president of the Treasure Board, may have misappropriated $50 million.

It would be ironic if a Conservative politician was the first one to be tried, convicted and sentenced under the new provisions in the ‘Safe Streets and Communities Act,’ otherwise known as the Omnibus Crime Bill.
