Mirror, mirror on the wall

Christy Clark was so concerned about her fate in the up-coming election she asked her mirror, “Who is the fairest contestant of them all?”

This is my version of recent events in British Columbia. Premier Christy Clark was so concerned about her fate in the up-coming 2013 election she asked her magic mirror, “Who is the fairest contestant of them all?” The mirror replied, “Adrian Dix.” That’s when Clark and her Liberal backers panicked.

Clark phoned Prime Minister Harper, who everyone knows invested $1.6 billion in that B.C .HST scam that didn’t pan out. Currently Harper has some very influential friends who are lusting to have a pipeline built through Beautiful British Columbia. No one is saying if pressure was applied, but Christy hired Ken Boessenkool as her chief of staff. Boessenkool happens to have worked as a senior policy adviser and strategist for Harper. He was also a lobbyist for several prominent companies, including Calgary-based Enbridge, the company salivating to build the Northern Gateway pipeline project.

The B.C. Liberals can now fire up their election apparatus knowing Clark’s right-hand man has lots of friends in the oil patch, who have the marketing know-how and financial resources to keep political machinery well lubricated. If Harper wasn’t handcuffed by the rules and regulations of our democracy, Enbridge would be laying pipe right now.
