To the Editor,
I sincerely do not understand why motorcycles should be permitted to make such loud sounds as they travel. Privately owned motorcycles should be legislated to be as quiet as police motorcycles.
I realize bikers think that making a big noise means they are terrifying and highly sexual. I feel, as do others, that their adolescent need to make loud disturbing sounds as they pass should be curtailed. Why should I have my nerves jangled with each passing motorcycle?
Adult children should not be allowed to disturb the peace just because they are riding a motorcycle. If I knew where they lived I would walk past their home playing my electric guitar at full volume. Maybe they’d like it. Grow up.
