My vote is for Mary

Editor:

Tsk, tsk, Mr. Thapar.  What is going on here? A hidden agenda, perhaps?

Maybe aspirations for the next mayor?

I wish you condolences on that one.

Maybe aspirations for mayor by second party?

Sounds like a plot right out of a mystery movie: Who’s doing it to who…

I certainly acknowledge, Mr. Thapar that you feel you have a fiscal responsibility to the city and council as per your position as finance chair. But really, in the media?

This should have absolutely been dealt with within city council.

I see you have the capabilities to “claw back” at least $300,000. If this is true, get with the program. Now this could get interesting.

When you referred to “some council members” that were “just in it for the money” I hope you weren’t referring to Mayor Mary Sjostrom.

I have personally known Mary and her husband for more than 30 years. They raised their family in an old house at Westcoast Energy. And put their children through the education system, as good parents do.

Upon her husband’s retirement, they purchased an older home in an older section of Southhills. This house is probably in excess of 25 years old and is not a lavish, extravagant house.

It is a moderate, warm, family-type home.

Check out the vehicles they drive, they are not lavish either.

In closing, check out Mary’s accomplishments. She is a hard working, dedicated mayor.

Quesnel is extremely lucky to have her on city council.

Looks good on your Mary.

Thank you.
