New life for armoury

Resident proposes a location for the art gallery and museum

Hey City of Vernon, a feasible solution to save and utilize the Brigadier Murphy Armoury building immediately came to mind.

Or maybe, it’s just too easy?

Why, with all of the history and space offered by this wonderful building, could the museum and/or art gallery not be relocated here? It seems to meet with all of the requirements and at the same time, can be saved as a historical building.

This solution would definitely save the taxpayers millions of dollars.

The structure is sound, with hardwood floors and wide open spaces.

Who could ask for more?

The museum would obviously be a perfect fit. It would certainly solve the space problems incurred by the art gallery.

Wake up Vernon.

Why miss such a fabulous opportunity to utilize this beautiful historical building for things we so desperately need?

And the price is right.

Since the land was originally donated by the City of Vernon, just maybe the Department of National Defence would consider paying it forward and donating the building and enough space for parking back to the city.

Just a thought.
