Re: Pitt farmland OK’d for new road, mall, (The News, Aug. 17.) Here we go again.
Another new mall. Boy that’s exciting. Have you noticed what is happening in all these “new” malls lately?
Let’s see – Shoppers will probably move in, Starbucks, another Marks, two banks, likely a Burger King, Tim Hortons, Subway, etc.
The rent structure is so high any kind of independent creative business ideas are finished before they start. Management wants long-term leases from chains so they don’t have to worry about collecting rent. Nothing “new” here.
