New Prosperity mine got raw deal from feds

Virtually every dollar created in B.C. starts with the extraction of natural resources

Please add me to the list of people who feel Taseko’s New Prosperity mine got a raw deal from the federal government.

It makes me want to shake my head. They seem to forget that virtually every dollar created in B.C. starts with the extraction of natural resources such as gold and copper.

They also seem to forget that B.C.’s Pacific Rim economy lifts and carries a huge, and often disproportionate, share of the entire country’s economy.  Perhaps Stephen Harper and his conservatives should spend more time in places like Williams Lake, Prince George, Quesnel, and the Cariboo-Chilcotin generally to see where the Canadian economy really starts.
