New Saanich policy will lead to more poop in park

In your recent article, Dog owners adapting to new Saanich policy (July 26), you quoted Saanich's senior park manager as saying: "People have gotten used to" the new policy of Saanich no longer supplying plastic bags for them to scoop their dog's poop in area parks.

On a recent walk on the Cedar Hill Park chip trail I saw not one, not two, but three instances where people had not picked up after said dogs had done their thing. Not being aware of the recent policy change, I was shocked; I couldn’t remember the last time I had seen such unscoopulous happenings.

Because I am not a dog owner myself, I don’t know if Cedar Hill Park is even affected by this change. However, it seems to me that the only thing people have gotten used to is being able to rationalize not picking up after their pups.
