I live near Kalamalka Lake, which is a major source of drinking water for the City of Vernon.
The threat of invasive zebra and quagga mussels entering our local lakes is being vastly underestimated. It is real and it won’t go away once it is here.
Stop all motorized boats on Kalamalka Lake. This will protect the city’s water source and prevent the invasion of this horrible species into the pristine water of this lake. Certainly this will upset all people with motorized boats. However, the greater good must be prioritized.
In the Glenmore reservoir in Calgary, there is zero motorized boats as it is the source of water for the city. It makes sense to me.
