No HST on sticks and clones

stick cartoon characters promote HST

To the editor:

While out for a walk, I stumbled on what appeared to be a pile of discarded sticks.

Upon closer inspection, I realize I had stubbed my toe on a huddle of unemployed stick-people.

You know the ones I mean. Those annoying stick cartoon characters that have been appearing in TV commercials and print ads to promote the Harmonized Sales Tax (HST).

They were the little wooden-headed pitchmen cloned from some hapless supporters of Premier Christy Clark’s B.C. Liberal government.

After a moment of hesitation, I bundled them up in my arms and took them home. It may not be politically correct, but burning wooden cartoon characters in my fireplace should reduce my heating bill this winter.

And knowing I won’t have to pay any HST or Carbon Tax on this free supply of firewood makes me feel even better.
