Thank you for the continued coverage of the Qualicum Beach town council meetings in The NEWS. In one of your most recent reports (‘Boundaries fuel debate’), I was particularly entertained by councillor Mary Brouilette’s assurance that the motion on the urban containment boundary is only intended to bring information to council and has nothing to do with making development easier. Your reporter didn’t say whether the councillor said this with a straight face. If so, kudos to Brouilette for another great comedic performance.
The sad part, of course, is that her actions along with those of her two colleagues on council is no laughing matter. The damage to our town that will follow their continued assault on our OCP could be irreparable.
