I grew up in a small city in Saskatchewan that had a penitentiary and a jail, where my sister worked as a secretary. My best friend’s father was warden at the penitentiary.
I can’t recall any problems. Everyone felt safe and it employed a lot of people, something Penticton needs desperately. Unless highly educated, all we have to offer young people are restaurant and retail employment Ń go-nowhere jobs. Perhaps a prison would deter some of the rampant drug problem in Penticton. I hope it’s a yes vote for Penticton.
