Letter writer Robbin Yager is right about the Kinder Morgan oil pipeline being 60 years old. In fact, it was built long before the technology was developed to extract the oil from the oil sands.
Therefore, how can he claim the oil for the Kinder Morgan pipeline comes from the oil sands?
In fact, the oil comes from refineries on the North Saskatchewan River right in the city of Edmonton. One of my sons and his family have a perfect view of a group of oil refineries located across this river from his front yard.
How does Mr. Yager expect to replace the existing Kinder Morgan oil pipeline without first twinning this pipeline with an alternative pipeline so as not to interrupt the normal flow of oil to Burnaby and the U.S.?
