This weekend, I attended a number of community events, including an awards show at the Ramada.
At all, MP Ed Fast kept referring to the “Harper government,” and even claimed, “I bring greetings from the Harper government.”
I looked puzzled.
When did the government of Canada become the Harper government?
I thought I was the only one who noticed this, but apparently not.
This week, the talk on Parliament Hill has been about the “In and out scandal” and how Harper’s office has directed its MPs that the federal government be known as the Harper government.
Okay, so it wasn’t only me who noticed this.
This is outrageous.
I remember paying taxes to the government of Canada, but not the Harper government.
Mr. Fast should know that this Parliament and government belongs to all Canadians, not just to Stephen Harper and the Conservative party.
I suggest Mr. Fast remember this when attending future community events.
