Oh Canada

I bet many of those that cannot wait to go across the border to shop are the ones who stand up and shout buy Canadian and we are not part of the United States of America.  But you might just as well be.

By doing this you are possibly putting Canadians out of work.  Does this sound right? I think it is backwards, we should be trying to give our children and loved ones a job.  When you cross the border you are buying American which means made anywhere in the world where it is cheaper.

We lose secondary jobs: trucking, banking, warehousing. How would you feel if it was one of your children or family member who loses their job and hopefully not go on welfare? They should make everything that you buy taxable including the gas you use to support their economy.  We should only be allowed to bring back $750 once a year total.

This would mean we would have to hire more border guards but the monies they save should pay for them.

They are building more big box stores across the border. Why? To get more Canadians to come down and spend our hard-earned money in their American stores.  It seems that the only places in the States that are moving forward are the ones by the borders and in major tourist cities.

I think it is time, like Warren Buffet stated, that the rich should start paying their way and put a luxury tax on big ticketed items.
