Rails or pipelines both lead to tankers. So, editor John Harding was not asking the right question in his recent editorial about the subject, not in the Question of the Week on-line and on the editorial page of The NEWS.

The more correct question is: “How do we feel about the exponential increase in tanker traffic?”   Another more correct question would be: “How do we feel about the exponential increase in the chances of a bitumen spill on our coast?”

Another couple of questions he could ask are: “How do we feel about exporting our natural resources (bitumen) for someone else to process?” or “Why can’t Canadians gain some benefit from our natural resources?”
