Having heard Mayor Evans pronounce her decision to leave office after the next election, I raced downstairs picked up my pen and readied myself to comment on this weighty issue.
Alas, it turned out to be a Shakespeare day. They happen sometimes, and the Bard sits upon my shoulder and demands to have his say. For some reason he was determined that I should pay attention to words from Macbeth. Nothing would deter him
Of Macbeth he said ‘Nothing in his life became him like the leaving it….” What the Bard wanted me to glean from this, I don’t know. It was clear that the day was his, and my comments on the mayor’s announcement would have to wait.
