I would like to thank Pamela Owen on behalf of the BIG RED Committee for verifying in her letter what I have been stating over many years – that the municipality was over spending on budgets and that we were losing valuable jobs and they were not working on the problem but instead spending on things like a sports complex that at the rate we are going will have no people to utilize it by the time it is open.
We must start to reduce the budgets and stop borrowing monies.
If you want to have people come here to live then it must be made attractive to companies and families and a large municipal debt is not the way.
This group of people are the local persons who are working in the trenches and own the small business that keeps jobs and money in town.
Because of this we must listen to them and as I have been saying to include economic development as a major key to the official city plan.
