Dear editor,
To clear some of the misconceptions and maybe confusion on the issue of Maple Pool Campsite, I would ask all of the Courtenay councillors this same question:
Based on the information you have, are you in favour of pursuing the lawsuit against Maple Pool? Simple yes or no is sufficient.
I understand governance, in that, if the majority of the council votes one way, the rest of the council must follow on decisions.
However, when I was on the Board of Education, we were allowed to divulge “how” we voted in camera, or opinions on a subject, however we weren’t allowed to discuss the details of a particular situation.
I trust you would all feel comfortable in making your vote known without divulging the legalities of this situation.
