In response to the letter from A. Pomerleau, (Clear the air on outdoor burning, Progress, Oct. 25) her points are well taken.
A very important unmentioned issue is our city council’s vehement opposition to the Vancouver incinerator: What’s the difference between particle pollution from Vancouver’s garbage burned nearby versus particle pollution from local burning?
When our city refuses to impose burning bans, full stop, as most other communities have, how can the province and the cities of Vancouver et al see any validity in Chilliwack’s righteous opposition to their much cleaner construction of an incinerator while we inhale the clouds of smoke laying in the upper Fraser valley?
