Once again, the dedicated volunteers, organizers, corporate sponsors and enthusiastic citizenry came together for an excellent celebration of our nation’s birthday this week.
Despite the sweltering heat, people turned out in droves to be a part of it. Whether it was the massive turnout at the Pancake Breakfast in Willow point put on by Quality Foods and the Campbell River Fire Fighters, the Mike McInnes Memorial Cup skateboard contest at the Sportsplex, or any of the downtown events, people were smiling and enthusiastic, spirits were high, and it was a fitting celebration of what it means to be Canadian.
Good work, one and all.
