We’re beside ourselves wondering how it is that of Surrey’s 40 shootings so far this year, police have apparently not yet collected enough evidence to charge somebody for being directly responsible for any of them.
Bullets are flying in our city. Where are the attempted murder charges?
Surrey RCMP Assistant Commissioner Bill Fordy clearly has an unenviable task in securing this evidence because, as he says, victims are not co-operating.

Many of these shootings are happening in broad daylight on busy city streets. They’re not being carried out by invisible bad guys in invisible cars, shooting invisible bullets from invisible guns.
There have to be many witnesses, right?
There are now all kinds of cameras on the streets to help catch people committing violent crimes in the act, right?
We have 100 more police officers on the streets now, right?
So why are the police having such a hard time matching trigger pullers to the crime?
