OUR VIEW: Help solve a Surrey murder

What a terrible burden it must be to know the identity of a killer but remain silent. Not only failing to do the right thing, but doing so knowing that the victim's family is desperately pining for answers. Somewhere out there, someone has been carrying this burden for seven years. It's time to let it go.

What a terrible burden it must be to know the identity of a killer but remain silent. Not only failing to do the right thing, but doing so knowing that the victim’s family is desperately pining for answers. Somewhere out there, someone has been carrying this burden for seven years. It’s time to let it go.

Devon Allaire-Bell, 19, and his best pal Jack Nielsen were stabbed in 2011, on Frank Hurt secondary school’s field in Newton. Nielsen survived the attack; Allaire-Bell did not. Seven years on, there have been no arrests.

If you can help police bring Allaire-Bell’s killers to justice, call the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS. Do the right thing. Do it today.
