I read with outrage the letter from J. Nicholls regarding parking meters.
First of all, I am not as sure as J. Nicholls that the loonie and the toonie are not, in fact, foreign currency. Do those words even sound like English? Further, how can it be possible to put the full value of $2 into such a small coin?
J. Nicholls presupposes that I leave my house with my purse/wallet, phone and keys. Indeed,he could not be more wrong. I often leave my house without my purse/wallet. It is a good day when I don’t close the door when my keys are still in the house, thereby by locking myself out. Don’t even get me started on my phone. I would forget my head most days if it weren’t screwed on to my shoulders. And now I am expected to remember coins? A questionable form of Canadian currency at best?
J. Nicholls should take his or her ideas and park them.
