Parks bylaw an unnecessary tax increase

What I see is a dollar reflection coming out of our bank accounts and having to budget for a 5.2 per cent ICBC increase

To the Editor:

Since the Review article on September 4, “Parks Bylaw moves forward,”  what has gone forward in this short period of time is the dollar increase from $4 to over $6, with a start up budget of $10,000.

According to Ms. Wood, this bylaw is a reflection of Area “G”s current needs.

What I see is a dollar reflection coming out of our bank accounts  and having to budget for a 5.2 per cent ICBC increase along with electricity rates that are going through the roof. Enough is enough.

Ms. Wood is also quoted that the park bylaw would allow the regional district to investigate the possibilities of “a cascade of things that could be done under the legislation.”

The Oxford College edition dictionarie’s definition of cascade is “one after the other” .

Does that mean “one after the other” photo ops for the Area “G” Director and “one after the other” tax increases for us proud but tax bitten residents of Area “G”.
