Parksville doesn’t need a part-time councillor

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry when I see the goings on in this city (Parksville).

It is not like we don’t have enough issues with our council without some of them flitting off to engage in their own personal agendas (good luck Coun. Sue Powell in your attempt to unseat Michelle Stilwell).

But we are comforted to be told that Powell will do the right thing by keeping her seat on council (as a back up if she is not successful?), will take leaves when she is campaigning and if she is successful in her bid, she will attend council meetings until 2018 to save the common herd from having to pay for another byelection.

The people of this city should not be subjected to this type of thinking. If Powell wishes to run for a provincial seat, she should do the right thing and resign her seat on our council and devote her time to her new endeavours.

We don’t need a part-time councillor in this city.
