I was shocked but not surprised at the recent news that a caregiver was caught abusing a dementia patient. Reportedly this happens more often than anyone would think.
In this case the offender was caught with the use of a hidden camera. Hidden cameras are common use in stores and at road intersections. Surely patient safety is as important as shop lifting or driving infractions. Why can’t surveillance cameras be installed in every room of a care facility in order to protect patients who cannot speak for themselves?
