Persistence pays off in shopping centre design

To all the ardent pro-SmartCentres people: I hope you will stop and thank all the anti-SmartCentres folks.

To all the ardent pro-SmartCentres people. When you finally get your shiny new shopping centre I hope you will stop and thank all the anti-SmartCentres folks.

Thanks to us, you will have a better-designed, less harmful to the environment (I hope) development than the one first envisioned by this company.

Sorry you had to wait so long.

Mr. Hilderbrand himself has said that they ended up with a much better final design.

On being asked by me why they are so insistent on pushing forward despite all the opposition, he told me that SmartCentres could not afford not to because it will be years before they can recover their investment.

They do not care about Salmon Arm or the fish the town is named after.

Like most huge business organizations their one and only concern is the bottom line.
