With all the concern and recent tragedy on Flood-Hope Road in the Richmond Hill area, I feel it necessary to report what I witnessed April 21 on my way into town from Silver Creek.
I turned onto Flood-Hope Road from the area of the old Skinny’s restaurant, pulling behind an RCMP vehicle. I always try to be conscious of my speed along this road, but have often noticed RCMP cruisers tend to be going a little quicker than everyone else. So, behind the officer (who was talking on the non-hands-free radio), I set my cruise control to try and pace with her – I set it at 55 km/h. I soon had it up to 60, which surprised me, then by the time we were passing Richmond Hill area we were up to 70 km/h!
There appeared to be no emergency, no lights or siren. Not impressed…just saying.
