Polymer bills a rip-off?

Reader believes new polymer bills are another boondoggle

To the editor:

I don’t know how a bunch of officials for the Canadian government got hoodwinked with the new polymer bills – $20, $50 and $100.

They were probably given samples to look over. Go ahead and try to tear one, pull, twist. It’s waterproof, too.

They look pretty, except the $20 looks faded or washed out.

The big failure with this new bill is if it gets cut and you pull on each side of the cut, the bill separates like a knife cutting through butter.

And they are supposed to last longer?

The manufacturer of this polymer must have known about this defect.

Why wouldn’t they correct this problem before approaching the government?

It looks like another boondoggle that the taxpayers will be paying for, one way or another.
