Just a special thanks to the town of Golden for all the love and being patient enough to wait in line at the Fall Faire. The two french fry sellers tried to get everything together and prep food and no one complained.
No one was angry with us and lovingly accepted our food with great comments.
As we ran through the trailer, back and forth, going crazy with the madness, with people waiting on us, I’m not sure what it looked like on the outside but we were on the edge at all times just hoping we have enough of eveything and getting everything prepared.
It was quite a big venture for two young guys who never really worked for any cooking establishment and took one under their belt to run everyday until we drop.
We are working hard on making this venture our lifestyle or career per-se but we are still/again dealing with the problems of the bylaw issue which is kind of in the works.
So I’ve been left to the last option of writing a letter to the council expressing our intent to create a bylaw, or work with us to create a way for us to vend in town on either a full-time or semi-permanent basis.
Again, we are in this just to make a living and have a good life working for ourselves. We want to work as much as we can to develop a policy where everyone wins and no other food establishment will feel the blow of new food businesses pushing their way in.
Our hope is to be open on just the weekends or maybe late nights if possible (bar crowds).
A little competition with the pizza shops, but we don’t deliver and people will still continue to get pizza because of how amazing it is.
But at the moment Golden Fries has a few gigs including rockin on main in Radium and also weekends at the Village Cheese company in Armstrong.
So sorry to Golden, we will be leaving for just a few days a week at the end of September to go to Armstrong to vend as our contract at the rest area is soon up and there is nowhere will we be able to go.
I hope some people will come down to visit. The folks at the Village Cheese company have been great with us and are helping us out tremendously.
Hopefully Golden Fries will soon have a home in Golden and everyone can come down and enjoy poutines whenever they please…
